Curriculum Inspiring Instruction
Required Core Curriculum
The Institute curriculum is a four-year course of study designed by experts in association, chamber, and nonprofit management. Participants take six core courses each year with the same group of colleagues, creating a learning group that builds upon previous classes.
Elective Courses
You choose what you want to learn! In addition to the required core curriculum, participants also choose three electives. Institute's targeted, two-hour elective classes allow you to tailor your Institute experience to meet your objectives. By covering one topic in detail, electives help you prepare for specific jobs, duties, and assignments.
All attendees take one elective from each of the groups outlined below. These courses are not dictated by your class year in the Institute program. Elective courses are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
Learning Assessment
Part of the Institute experience requires that you participate in a pre- and post- knowledge appraisal program. You will be asked to complete a brief pre-Institute open response question during registration, and to complete a couple of interactive and situation-based questions at the conclusion of the week. These questions may be found in the Forums section of our online Institute network ConnectIN.
Professional Consultations
Sign up onsite to talk one-on-one with Institute faculty and peer leaders about an issue or idea that you have or a management challenge you are facing. Your confidential consultation will be scheduled for a convenient time and place, typically during a meal or break.
