October 23: The U.S.-Korea Business Council and the Korea Economic Institute (KEI) will welcome Korean Finance Minister Kwon O-kyu to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce for a luncehon discussion on important issues in the U.S.-Korea economic relations.

Past Events

September 12: The U.S.-Korea Business Coalition convened a meeting after the August recess to coordinate member strategies to secure congressional approval of the U.S.-Korea FTA. Korean Ambassador Lee Tae-sik addressed the coalition before the start of the meeting.

September 7: U.S.-Korea Business Council members met with Andrew Quinn, Economic Affairs Counselor at the U.S. Embassy in Seoul, to discuss the FTA and other matters.

August 30:  Council Executive Vice President Bob Reis spoke at a forum organized by the San Diego World Trade Center to help build support for the FTA among the business community in San Diego.

August 28:  Korean Ambassador Lee met with California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and members of the state legislature in Sacramento on August 28. The California Chamber of Commerce, U.S.-Korea Business Council, U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and others hosted the ambassador and several U.S. and Korean executives at a luncheon forum that day.

August 24: The Greater Seattle Chamber of Commerce, U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and the Trade Development Alliance of Seattle hosted a luncheon forum for Korean Ambassador Lee in Seattle.

August 23: The Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce, U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and others hosted a breakfast roundtable for Korean Ambassador Lee in Los Angeles.

August 17: The Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce, U.S. Chamber of Commerce Trade Roots, and others hosted a luncheon forum with Korean Ambassador Lee Tae-sik in Atlanta.

July 11: The U.S.-Korea Business Council hosted an off-the-record discussion on the U.S.-Korea FTA with a visiting delegation of Korean National Assembly members.

June 30: The U.S.-Korea Business Council sponsored a reception following the U.S.-Korea FTA signing ceremony on Capitol Hill.
 
June 21:  Council Executive Director Sean Connell gave the keynote speech at the U.S.-Korea FTA Business Summit in Los Angeles, sponsored by the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), KPMG, Korea Investors and Traders Association, Overseas Korea Trade Network, Los Angeles Business Journal, Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce, and the Port of Los Angeles.
 
June 14: The U.S.-Korea and Korea-U.S. Business Councils met for their 20th annual plenary meeting in Washington, D.C. On June 13, the Councils celebrated the anniversary at a special Gala Dinner, which was attended widely by U.S. and Korean government and business leaders. Assistant Secretary for East Asia and Pacific Affairs, Christopher Hill, and Senator Tom Harkin gave the keynote addresses that evening.
