Transcript

Today's jobs report sounds a death knell for the jobless recovery. Since August of last year, the
economy has created over 1.1 million new jobs and more Americans are working today than ever before in our history. Even the long-suffering manufacturing sector showed significant new job creation -- the first since July of 2000. Today's jobs numbers mean solid income growth for the future and continued strength in consumption.  These numbers should also help to allay the stock market fears that interest rate increases will slow the expansion. These job figures are the last piece of the economic puzzle. Our expansion is strong, well balanced and sustainable.
