Transcript

Americans are spending more and more time stuck in traffic and it is time to break the gridlock. A recent U.S. Chamber of Commerce Transportation study found that federal funding falls short of what is needed to maintain and improve our transportation system.   It is important to look at additional ways to supplement financing America’s transportation infrastructure – such as switching from the motor fuel tax to a vehicle mile tax or expanding the use of tolling by state and local governments. Congress needs to implement fair funding to ensure we have the resources to build our roads and public transportation in the future.
