Make no mistake about it - The U.S. Chamber of Commerce believes there is a great deal riding on the 2006 mid term elections. The next Congress could make key decisions on several business priorities - from comprehensive immigration reform to a national energy policy. That is why we are investing tens of millions of dollars to educate our members on who will best represent their interests in Congress and to educate the public as to where the candidates stand on the issues. The Chamber expects a closely divided 110th Congress in which votes are needed from both sides of the aisle to pass legislation. We will be ready to deal with whoever gets elected. And who ever is elected will know that they have to deal with us. The U.S. Chamber is doing what its members expect -making sure the public understands where the candidates stand on key economic issues -and laying the groundwork to deal with whoever wins to advance our pro-business agenda.
--William Miller National Political Director & Vice President of Congressional & Public Affairs U.S. Chamber of Commerce
