The Chamber applauds Microsoft, the FBI, and China's Public Security Bureau for the counterfeiting crackdown that uncovered more than a half billion dollars in fake Microsoft products which spanned 27 countries, 5 continents, and eight languages. These global organized crime networks will stop at nothing to steal from legitimate corporations and ultimately cheat consumers. That's why the U.S. Chamber of Commerce started a global, multi-million dollar initiative to thwart the growing threat of counterfeiting and piracy around the world. As part of our intellectual property rights (IPR) program in China, the U.S. Chamber has been working collaboratively with authorities in Guangdong and other Chinese provinces for more than two years to stem the global challenges of counterfeiting and piracy. If industry, government, and law enforcement collaborate, only then will we be able to protect American innovation, jobs, and consumer health and safety.
