U.S Chamber Reappoints Harland Stonecipher
CEO of Pre-Paid Legal Services, to Board of Directors

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The U.S. Chamber of Commerce has reappointed Harland Stonecipher, President and CEO Pre-Paid Legal Services, to a two-year term on its 100-person board of directors.

“The Chamber congratulates Harland Stonecipher on his reappointment,” said Thomas Donohue, President and CEO of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.  “His continued involvement will help advance the Chamber’s pro-business policies as well as promote free enterprise.”

Stonecipher has served as president and CEO of Pre-Paid Legal Services since 1972.  Pre-Paid Legal is a publicly-traded company listed on the New York Stock Exchange with members across the United States and Canada.  A pioneer of the legal service plan industry in the U.S., Stonecipher developed a unique system that gives middle-income families and individuals access to quality legal services for a monthly membership cost of $26 or less.

“I am very pleased to be reappointed for a second term to the U.S. Chamber’s Board of Directors,” said Stonecipher.  “It is an honor, not only for me, but for the thousands of our associates and members across the United States.”

Pre-Paid Legal Services, headquartered southeast of Ada, Oklahoma provides legal services to over 1.4 million families.  The legal service plans provide for legal service benefits, including unlimited attorney consultation, letter writing, document preparation and review, will preparation, traffic-related violations, and general trial defense.  The company also markets an identity theft protection plan.

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s board of directors meets three times annually and is responsible for approving the Chamber’s overall policy and strategy.  The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is the world’s largest business federation and represents more than three million businesses and organizations of every size, sector and region.
