Chamber Respects Miers’ Withdrawal as Nominee to High Court

WASHINGTON, D.C.—United States Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Thomas Donohue made the following statement on the withdrawal of Harriet Miers as a nominee to the Supreme Court:

“The Chamber respects Ms. Miers’ decision to withdraw as a nominee to the Supreme Court.  We look forward to engaging in the process for the next candidate, and we hope that the president’s pick is similarly understanding of business concerns.”

The Chamber of Commerce is the world’s largest business federation representing more than 3 million businesses and organizations of every size, sector, and region.
