WASHINGTON, DC—Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-NY), and FedEx Chairman, President, and CEO Frederick W. Smith will headline the United States Chamber of Commerce’s ACCESS 2006: America’s Small Business Summit on May 11 and 12 at the Grand Hyatt in Washington, D.C.

 

“ACCESS 2006 is a must-attend event for any business owner, manager, or entrepreneur who wants to grow and thrive in a changing economy,” said Chamber President and CEO Tom Donohue. “Participants will learn how to become more politically engaged, how to run their businesses more efficiently and profitability, and hear from the foremost leaders in business and government.”

 

Nearly 600 small business owners will gather at ACCESS 2006 to address the opportunities and challenges faced by small business. Issues such as healthcare costs, legal reform, workforce development, international trade, and business growth strategies will top the agenda for the two-day event. During the summit, one small business will receive the “2006 U.S. Chamber Small Business of the Year” Award. The summit will also feature a rally on Capitol Hill on small business issues and visits with members of Congress.

 

In additions to remarks from Senator Clinton, and FedEx’s Frederick W. Smith, the summit will host former chairs of the Republican and Democratic National Committees Ed Gillespie and Terry McAuliffe as well as many renowned political journalists.
