Chamber Hires Anthony Wisniewski to Lead Its Health Care Policy Priorities

WASHINGTON, D.C.-The U.S. Chamber of Commerce has hired Anthony C. Wisniewski to lead its health care policy efforts.

"Wisniewski will be overseeing one of the Chamber's most important policy portfolios -health care," said Tom Donohue, Chamber president and CEO. "He will apply his deep experience, innovative thinking, and creativity to some of the most difficult health care challenges facing businesses and the country, including combating rising premiums, eliminating waste and inefficiency, and incorporating much-needed market-based reforms to the system."

Wisniewski joined the Chamber from biotechnology company MedImmune, Inc. where he oversaw development and implementation of public policy strategies for federal, state, and international government affairs matters.

Before his tenure with MedImmune, Wisniewski served as senior director of state policy and policy counsel at PhRMA, managing state policy operations for several regions across the United States. He also served as PhRMA's liaison to the State Government Affairs Task Forces on State Pricing and Importation Legislation. Before that, he was in private legal practice, most recently with Tydings & Rosenberg LLP in Baltimore, Maryland, focusing on commercial business transactions as well as government affairs at the local, state, and federal levels.

Wisniewski is a member of the bars of both Maryland and the District of Columbia. He received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Notre Dame and a Bachelor of Arts from the Catholic University of America, majoring in politics, with minors in philosophy and history.  Wisniewski is currently serving as a gubernatorial appointee to the board of the Maryland Technology Development Corporation.

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is the world's largest business federation representing more than 3 million businesses and organizations of every size, sector, and region.
