U.S. Chamber Space Enterprise Council Elects New Leadership for 2007
 
WASHINGTON, DC-Lockheed Martin's Earl Madison was elected chairman of the United States Chamber of Commerce Space Enterprise Council today and attorney Rosanna Sattler was elected vice chairman. Madison and Sattler will serve one year terms. 
 
"Earl Madison brings extensive knowledge of space policy and tremendous depth in the field to this position," said David Logsdon, executive director of the Space Enterprise Council. "His energy, passion, and leadership skills will be put to excellent use."
      
Madison currently serves as Director, Space Systems and Operations for Lockheed Martin. He has also served as director of Space Systems and Operations chief of staff of the National Security Space Architect Office, a division of the U.S. Department of Defense. He has been active on the Space Council for three years and was its vice chairman in 2006.

 

"Rosanna Sattler is one of the nation's leading authorities on the legal issues pertaining to space law and telecommunications," said Logsdon. "She will play an integral in developing legal policies to govern the rapidly growing space and telecommunications fields."
      
Sattler is a partner with Boston law firm of Posternak, Blankstein, and Lund LLP, and chair of the firm's Space Law and Telecommunications Group. She is a founding member of the Space Enterprise Council. 
 
Madison and Sattler will help the Space Enterprise Council achieve the following priorities for 2007:
    
* Supporting the "Vision for Space Exploration" by endorsing robust funding for NASA through grass tops and grassroots advocacy efforts.
* Advocating private sector capabilities and opportunities in the implementation and formation of commercial, civil, and national security space policy. 
* Promoting the role of U.S. industry in the advancement of space-related research and development, the exploration of space, and expansion of commercial space markets.
* Increasing public awareness of the contributions of space to U.S. prosperity and the need for the American education system to encourage technical studies.
